The Dish is a weekly newsletter on food and life by Phoebe Fry, a Brooklyn-based cook, writer, and illustrator. Welcome!

What to Expect
Each issue of The Dish will focus on food, but the format will vary. Most newsletters will fall into one of these categories:
Notes from the Kitchen: A collection of dishes I’ve cooked and/or eaten recently, along with thoughts on how to make everyday life more delicious.
Ingredient Love Letter: An ode to a particular ingredient I love (like crème fraîche!), with ideas for how to use it.
Sweet Somethings: A mix of recommendations and personal notes. This is the most nebulous category — I might share a restaurant I adore, a TV show I’m hooked on, or a glimpse into my personal life. Reading a Sweet Somethings post is a great way to get to know me.
Menu: A monthly seasonal menu suggestion, complete with tips to help you execute it yourself. (Reserved for paid subscribers! $5/month or $50/year.)
About Me
Hi! I’m Phoebe.
My cooking style was shaped by my time at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland and Alice Waters’s Rome Sustainable Food Project in Italy, where seasonality and sustainability reign supreme — as well as by working the line at my favorite restaurants in New York City, Cervo’s and Hart’s.
As a writer and illustrator, I take inspiration from the kitchen above all else, which you’ll find reflected in The Dish.
